To Assign a Media Item to a Media Button
Tip: You can assign the same media item to multiple Media Buttons and set different IN and OUT points for each. This allows you generate multiple Media Buttons from the same parent media item.

Right-click on the empty Media Button location that you want to assign a media item to.

Select Assign and click on the type of Media Button you want to create.
- Video — creates a Video Media Button that will contain a video clip. The video clip can have embedded audio and/or alpha.
- Audio — creates an Audio Media Button that will contain an audio clip or the embedded audio from a video clip.
- Still — creates a Still Media Button that will contain a still image or a single frame from a video clip.
Tip: You can assign a media item of a different type to a Media Button. For example, you can assign a video + audio (V+A) clip to an Audio Media Button. The audio is loaded into the Audio Media Players when the Media Button is loaded. -
Select the media file that you want to assign to the selected Media Button.
Note: Only valid media files for the selected type of Media Button are shown.Tip: Use the Search in the top right corner to quickly find a particular clip.Tip: The Tracks column shows whether the media item contains video (V), alpha/key (K), audio (A), and timecode (T).
- Click OK.
The media item is assigned to the Media Button and a thumbnail is generated for Video and Still Media Buttons. Refer to To Set the Global Settings for information on the default frame that the thumbnail is taken from.
