Reference and audio I/O setup, networking, and audio mixer configuration.
Audio Inputs
Audio sources come into the system through embedded audio (SDI), analog XLRs (XLR-Analog-Input only), MADI (SFP), or audio over network (AoIP or Dante®). Internal mixer outputs can also be used as sources.
To Set up a MADI Input
MADI audio inputs come into the system through the MADI SFP port.

- Network Setup
  The control network connection for the AudioEdge™ XLR-Analog-Input/Output is separate from the AoIP Primary and Secondary ports and allows you to interface with the system, manage setup files, and collect logs.
- System Access
  Enable or disable system access and control methods such as FTP.
- Reference
  The flexible reference system allows for either video reference or word clock to be used to sync audio across multiple devices.
- Audio Inputs
  Audio sources come into the system through embedded audio (SDI), analog XLRs (XLR-Analog-Input only), MADI (SFP), or audio over network (AoIP or Dante®). Internal mixer outputs can also be used as sources.
  - To Set up the Quick Listen Device
    The quick listen allows you to listen to a pre-mix input on a selected output.
  - To Set up an SDI Audio Input
    Embedded audio inputs come into the system through the To Frame HD BNCs.
  - To Set up an Analog Audio Input
    Analog audio inputs come into the system through the XLR ports on the front of the frame.
  - To Set up a MADI Input
    MADI audio inputs come into the system through the MADI SFP port.
  - To Set up a Network/Dante® Audio Input (AoIP)
    Network audio inputs come into the system through the AoIP Primary and Secondary ports on the rear of the frame.
  - To Set up a Mix Input
    Outputs of the audio mixer can be used as inputs.
- Audio Outputs
  Audio sources come out of the system through embedded audio (SDI), analog XLRs (XLR-Analog-Output only), MADI (SFP), or audio over network (AoIP/Dante®). Internal mixer outputs can also be used as output sources.
- Licenses
  Software options allows you to expand the functionality or resources available to the system. These options can either be licensed at the time you purchase your system, purchased and installed later on, or temporarily licensed through the Ross Platform Manager (RPM).
- GPI Control (XLR-Analog-Output Only)
  General Purpose Interface (GPI) is a high/low voltage signalling protocol that allows the system to send simple commands to an external device, or receive commands from a device. Each pin on the GPI is set as either high (+5 Volts), or low (0 Volts), and it is the switching between high and low that sends commands to the external device, or to the system.
- MIDI Controller
  The MIDI controller is used to control the RAVE audio mixer. The controller connects to RAVE through DashBoard.

To Set up a MADI Input

MADI audio inputs come into the system through the MADI SFP port.

Click Navigation Menu > Configuration > Inputs > MADI

The inputs are listed along the side and the various settings are listed across the top. Click the setting button for the source you want to set up to view the available settings.

Tip:

Click the MADI [1-32] or MADI [33-64] button to view all sources.


Setting	Description
Text	Apply a custom name to the source. Enter a new name for each input you want to identify differently. The name is used to identify the input on the mixer mnemonics as well as on menus.
Mnemonic	Select a custom text size and color, and background color for the source mnemonic.
Icon	Select a custom icon for the source mnemonic.
Lvl	Indicates an audio signal has been detected on the channel.
Listen	Press and hold the Listen button to have the channel pair sent to selected Quick Listen Device.
