Switcher Mode Resources

When the switcher is operating in a UHDTV1 video format, the number of available resources is reduced to provide the additional processing power required for UHDTV1 production. The following table provides a quick overview of how the resources are re-allocated.

Note: Values represent maximum resources with all options installed.
Tip: Refer to Switcher Mode Caching for information on using the Cached Switcher Mode feature.
Table 1. Switcher Mode Resources

Video Inputs (max) 60
Video Outputs (max) 20 (+MV Outputs)

Notes:

1 Software options are required to be installed to activate the maximum number of resources.

2 Each Canvas consumes MiniME engines to generate the output. The number of Canvas outputs that are available depends on the number of MiniME engines that are available.

3 The Media-Store cache is broken into 3 × 4GB blocks. In HD, channels 1,3,7 have access to the first block; 2,4,8 have access to the second; and 5,6 have access to the last. In UHDTV1, channels 1,3 have access to the first block; 2,4 have access to the second; and 5,6 have access to the last.

4 The total number of Inputs and Outputs depends on the number of Ultra 60 I/O boards installed in the frame.

5 In HD the total number of input FSFCs, and output FCs is shared. In UHDTV1 there are separate input FSFC, and output FC resources.

6 Up to 5 additional outputs are fixed to I/O MultiViewers.
