Color LUTs
Apply an Adobe® 1D or 3D LUT file to a media item for color grading, correction, or conversion.
A LUT, or Look-Up Table, is essentially a table that maps one set of values to another. In the case of the Color LUT, you are mapping an input color to an output color. The complexity of the transformation defines whether it is a 1D or 3D LUT (1 or 3 dimensions).
- 1D — contains three independent lookups (one for Red, one for Green, and one for Blue).
- 3D — contains a single combined lookup for Red, Green, and Blue.
The switcher supports the Adobe® Cube LUT Specification 1.0 (IRIDAS).
Note:
The 4D and 5D LUTs are not supported at this time.
Note:
Only .cube files are supported at this time.
Keep the following in mind:
Keep the following in mind when working with LUTs:
- The switcher supports both Type I (nominal video range) and Type III (full signal range) Color LUT workflows.
- The Color LUT Type workflow is assigned to the LUT directly and not the media item.
- All Color LUT files must be uploaded to the /luts folder.
- A Color LUT is applied to a media item in the database and cannot be applied to a media item when it is loaded in to a channel.
- The RossTalk and custom control override commands eject the media item from the channel, change the LUT assignment, and re-load the media item. If the same media item is loaded into another channel, the LUT assignment for that instance of the media item is unchanged and will not match the database or channel that the override was applied to.
