Audio Reference/Clock Source

The reference or clock sources used will impact which audio sources are available and how your clock topology will operate.

Note:
You cannot use multiple clock sources at the same time.
Note:
The Word Clock Output on the XLR-Analog-Output either loops the Word Clock In signal, or uses an internally generated clock signal.

With Dante® License

With a Dante® license, the Dante Controller can be set as a Precision Time Protocol (PTP) leader or follower, sync to the word clock, or sync to an external device. The word clock or PTP, however, cannot be used to synchronize embedded audio signals over SDI. If you are using embedded audio over SDI you must use a reference signal or lock to the incoming SDI. In these cases the Dante Controller must sync to an external device.

Without Dante® License

Without a Dante® license, the system cannot use PTP, but can lock to a word clock signal for the analog input/output signals. If you are using embedded audio over SDI you must use a reference signal or lock to the incoming SDI.
