Network Setup
The control network connection for the AudioEdge™ XLR-Analog-Input/Output is separate from the AoIP Primary and Secondary ports and allows you to interface with the system, manage setup files, and collect logs.
DashBoard Network Settings
To Connect DashBoard to the System
DashBoard connects to the system as the main controller. All DashBoard connections mirror each other.

- Network Setup
  The control network connection for the AudioEdge™ XLR-Analog-Input/Output is separate from the AoIP Primary and Secondary ports and allows you to interface with the system, manage setup files, and collect logs.

      DashBoard connects to the system as the main controller. All DashBoard connections mirror each other.

    Ross Platform Manager can store and load configurations onto your system remotely, as well as provide software licenses. This allows for a centralized management of system configurations and software options.

  Enable or disable system access and control methods such as FTP.
- Reference
  The flexible reference system allows for either video reference or word clock to be used to sync audio across multiple devices.
- Audio Inputs
  Audio sources come into the system through embedded audio (SDI), analog XLRs (XLR-Analog-Input only), MADI (SFP), or audio over network (AoIP or Dante®). Internal mixer outputs can also be used as sources.
- Audio Outputs
  Audio sources come out of the system through embedded audio (SDI), analog XLRs (XLR-Analog-Output only), MADI (SFP), or audio over network (AoIP/Dante®). Internal mixer outputs can also be used as output sources.
- Licenses
  Software options allows you to expand the functionality or resources available to the system. These options can either be licensed at the time you purchase your system, purchased and installed later on, or temporarily licensed through the Ross Platform Manager (RPM).
- GPI Control (XLR-Analog-Output Only)
  General Purpose Interface (GPI) is a high/low voltage signalling protocol that allows the system to send simple commands to an external device, or receive commands from a device. Each pin on the GPI is set as either high (+5 Volts), or low (0 Volts), and it is the switching between high and low that sends commands to the external device, or to the system.
- MIDI Controller
  The MIDI controller is used to control the RAVE audio mixer. The controller connects to RAVE through DashBoard.

To Connect DashBoard to the System

DashBoard connects to the system as the main controller. All DashBoard connections mirror each other.

Note:

The system supports a maximum of 20 DashBoard connections at any one time. If there are already the maximum number of connections to a frame you will not be able to connect to it.

Tip:

You can confirm or change the IP address of the system from the front panel menu. Refer to Front Panel Menu for more information.

Click File > New > TCP/IP DashBoard Connect or openGear Device.
In the IP Address field, enter the IP address of the AudioEdge™ XLR-Analog-Input/Output.

Note:
If you are connecting through a Network Address Translator (NAT), the Detect Frame Information button may return the wrong IP address. We recommend to not use this function.
In the Display Name field, enter the name you want to use to identify the frame in DashBoard. This should be a unique name for the system you are setting up.
Select OGP.
In the Port field, enter 5253 .

Note:
You can use a NAT gateway to connect to the system from a DashBoard computer on a different network. If you are connecting to the system through a NAT gateway, you must use the NAT ports instead of the regular ports.

Tip:
Multiple DashBoard connections can use the same port, but they will mirror each other.
Click Finish.
The system appears in the Tree View.
