Press Insert Event > More > RossTalk.

Tip: Press Show Keyboard to bring up a virtual keyboard on the display. Only those custom controls that support text strings as an input have the option of showing the keyboard.
Command Description
CC Run a custom control.
  1. Press Bank and use the Bank knob to select the bank you want to run the CC from.
  2. Press Macro and use the Macro knob to select the CC you want to run.
ClearAllFB Clear all frame-buffers.
ClearFB Clear a specific frame-buffer.
  • Press Buffer ID and use the Buffer ID knob to select the frame-buffer you want to use.
ClearLayerFB Clear a specific layer in a specific frame-buffer.
  1. Press Layer ID and use the Layer ID knob to select the layer you want to use.
  2. Press Buffer ID and use the Buffer ID knob to select the frame-buffer you want to use.
Down Move the current selection in the Sequencer to the item below in the list.
Focus Set the Sequencer focus to a specific template.
  • Press Take ID and use the Take ID knob to select the take id for the template you want to load.
FTB Perform a fade to black transition.
GPI Trigger a GPI.
  • Use the GPI knob to select the GPI that you want to use.
GPI w/State Turn a GPI on or off.
  • Press GPI and use the GPI knob to select the GPI that you want to use.
  • Press State and use the State knob to select whether to turn the GPI on (On or 1) or off (Off or 0).
HELP This command is not implemented at this time.
KEYAUTO Perform a key only auto transition on the selected ME.
  1. Select the ME X that you want to perform the transition on.
  2. Select the Key X that you want to transition.
KEYCUT Perform a key only cut transition on the selected ME.
  1. Select the ME X that you want to perform the transition on.
  2. Select the Key X that you want to transition.
KEYSHAPED Turn shaped keying on or off for the selected key.
  1. Select the ME X that you want set the key for.
  2. Select the Key X that you want to change the state for.
  3. Press State and use the State knob to select whether the alpha is shaped (On) or unshaped (Off).
KEYSTATE Returns whether a key is on-air or off-air on an ME.
  1. Select the ME X and Key X for the key you want to get the sate for.
LOADSET Recall a switcher set.
  1. Press Disk and use the Disk knob to select the location of the set you want to recall.
  2. Press Set, enter the name of the set you want to recall, and press Accept New Name.
MEAUTO Perform an auto transition on the selected ME.
  1. Select the ME X(s) that you want to perform the transition on.
MECUT Perform a cut on the selected ME.
  1. Select the ME X(s) that you want to perform the transition on.
MEM Recall a memory.
  1. Select the ME X(s) that you want to recall the memory on.
  2. Press Memory and use the Memory knob to select the memory you want to recall.
MEMSAVE Store a memory.
  1. Select the ME X(s) that you want to store the memory on.
  2. Press Memory and use the Memory knob to select the memory you want to store.
MNEM Enter a new mnemonic name for a source.
  1. Select the type of source and use the Src X knob to select the source you want to name. You may have to press the Src X to have the knob appear.
  2. Press Name, enter the name of the set you want to store, and press Accept New Name.
MS Load a media item into a Media​-Store.
  1. Press GS, GSA, or ME and use the GS, GSA, or ME knob to select the Media​-Store you want to load the media item on.
  2. Press Channel and use the Channel knob to select the channel of the selected Media​-Store that you want to load a media item on.
  3. Press Media Number and use the Media Number knob to select the media item you want to load.
MSPLAY Play the current media item loaded in the selected Media​-Store.
  1. Press GS, GSA, or ME and use the GS, GSA, or ME knob to select the Media​-Store you want to play the media item on.
  2. Press Channel and use the Channel knob to select the channel of the selected Media​-Store that you want to play the media item on.
MVBOX Select a source for a box on a MultiViewer.
  1. Select the type of source you want to select and use the Src X knob to select the source you want to select.
  2. Press MV and use the MV knob to select the MultiViewer you want to select a source on.
  3. Press Box and use the Box knob to select the box on the MultiViewer that you want to assign the source to.
Next Take the current selection in the Sequencer to air and advance the current selection to the next item in the list.

RESETALL Performs an ALL+ALL soft reset on the switcher.
Resume Resume a specific layer in a specific frame-buffer.
  1. Press Layer ID and use the Layer ID knob to select the layer you want to use.
  2. Press Buffer ID and use the Buffer ID knob to select the frame-buffer you want to use.
SAVESET Store a switcher set.
  1. Press Disk and use the Disk knob to select the location of the set you want to store.
  2. Press Set, enter the name of the set you want to store, and press Accept New Name.
SeqIn Load a template to air on a specific layer to the output channel selected in the template. The Sequencer focus moves to this item.
  1. Press Take ID and use the Take ID knob to select the take id for the template you want to load.
  2. Press Layer ID and use the Layer ID knob to select the layer you want to use.
SeqOut Take a template off-air.
  • Press Take ID and use the Take ID knob to select the take id for the template you want to load.
SETVIDMODE Set the video format that you want the switcher to operate in.
  1. Press Vid/Ref and use the Vid/Ref knob to select VID.
  2. Press Format and use the Format knob to select the video format you want the switcher to operate in.
SpyderBPR Recall an existing basic preset Preset ID on the device.
SpyderFKR Recall a single predefined function key Function Key on the device.
SpyderRSC Recall a register Register ID at a specific cue Script Cue on the device.
Take Load a template to air in a specific frame-buffer and on a specific layer.
  1. Press Take ID and use the Take ID knob to select the take id for the template you want to load.
  2. Press Layer ID and use the Layer ID knob to select the layer you want to use.
  3. Press Buffer ID and use the Buffer ID knob to select the frame-buffer you want to use.
TRANSINC Select what is included in the next ME transition.
  1. Press the ME X button for the ME that you want to set the next transition for.
  2. Select the key(s) and/or background that you want to include in the next transition.
TRANSRATE Select a new transition rate for an ME.
  1. Press the ME X button for the ME that you want to set the new rate for.
  2. Press Num of Frames and use the Num of Frames knob to select the length of the transition in frames.
TRANSTYPE Select a transition type for an ME.
  1. Press the ME X button for the ME that you want to set the transition type for.
  2. Press Type and use the Type knob to select the type of transition you want to perform.
TypeInCmd Enter a manual RossTalk command.
USERVAR Select the variable name, operation, and value you want to apply to the user variable.
  1. Press Name and enter the name of the variable you want to edit.
  2. Press Variable Operator and use the Variable Operator knob to select the operator you want to apply.
  3. Press Variable Value and use the Variable Value knob to select the value you want to apply.
Up Move the current selection in the Sequencer to the item above in the list.
XPT Select a source on a bus on the switcher.
  1. Select the type of source and use the Src X knob to select the source you want to select. You may have to press the Src X to have the knob appear.
  2. Select the aux, ME, or key that you want to select the source on. Depending on the source, you may have to select a key bus or aux bank.
