This setup information applies to the Pixel Power® Clarity™.
Cable Connections
The device connects to the switcher over standard ethernet.
Switcher Setup
The switcher must be set up to communicate with the CG using either serial or ethernet protocols, as well as associate the video inputs that are coming into the switcher from the CG with the channel on the device that they are coming from.
Tip: XPression also support the RossTalk protocol either directly . Refer to XPression Supported RossTalk Commands for a list of supported commands.
To Set Up Communications
- Press HOME > Setup > Installation > Com Setup
- Press Type and use the Com Port knob to select the net port that you want to set up for the device.
- Use the Device knob to select CG.
- Press Select Device and use the Device knob to select Pixel.
- Press Com Type and use the Type knob to select Network TCP.

Press Com Settings and use the Client/Server knob to select Client and enter the IP
Settings.

Press Extra Options and use the Option and Value knobs to set the device
parameters.
Option Value Bus Address 2 (default) - Press HOME > Confirm.
To Set Up a Video Input
In addition to the video/fill input coming from the CG, you must also set up the alpha input and associate it with the video/fill. Refer to your Acuity™ Setup manual for more information.
- Press HOME > Setup > Installation > Source Configuration > Input Type.
- Use the Input knob to select the input video/fill source that is coming from the CG.
- In the Input Type area, select Char Gen.
- Press More > More.

Press CG Setup and use the CG and Channel knobs to
select the device that the video signal is coming from.
- CG — select the device that the video signal is coming from.
- Channel — select the channel on the device that the video signal is coming from.
- Press HOME > Confirm.
Device Setup
The device must be set up to communicate with the switcher using the same serial or ethernet communications as you set the switcher up to use.

To Set Up Ethernet Communications
Tip: The Socket Server Application will automatically launch the Clarity Graphics
Application.
- From the PixelPower Control Center main toolbar, select Options > Automation Setup.
- Select the MOS Gateway 1 tab.
- Locate the ActiveX MOS Object Item Slug field.
- In the Template Formatting field type Page %N.
- Click OK to save your changes and close the Automation Setup dialog box.
