Ultrix Carbonite Setup
The Ultrix™ router must be set up to support the Ultrix Carbonite on the Software Defined Production Engine (SWR-SDPE) blade. This includes setup of the Ultripower units, DashBoard connections, the matrix database, and the UltriScape Multi-Viewer.

Sources and destinations in the router must be connected to the inputs and outputs of the switcher.

Ultrix Carbonite Setup
The Ultrix™ router must be set up to support the Ultrix Carbonite on the Software Defined Production Engine (SWR-SDPE) blade. This includes setup of the Ultripower units, DashBoard connections, the matrix database, and the UltriScape Multi-Viewer.
- Ultrix Carbonite Hardware Setup
  The router and switcher components of Ultrix Carbonite must be set up separately before they can work together.
- DashBoard Connection
  Ultrix™ has a separate ethernet connection to DashBoard and appears as a separate node in the DashBoard tree view.

  Sources and destinations in the router must be connected to the inputs and outputs of the switcher.

  - To Create a Router Database
    The router uses the database to identify sources and destinations and assign them to levels.
  - To Create a Router SoftPanel
    The SoftPanel allows you to connect router sources to destinations and is required to connect switcher outputs to the router outputs.
  - To Assign a Switcher Output to a Router Output
    Switcher video outputs are sources in the router that need to be connected to router destinations and outputs.
  - To Set UltriClean Clean Switch
    The UltriClean feature allows the router to delay each video output. The switcher introduces a delay in the video path relative to rest of the router. The Clean Switch line buffer must be set for every output used for switcher outputs to properly time them with the rest of the router sources.
- Audio Routing in Ultrix™
  Audio is handled independently in the router and is separate from the switcher. You can output Media-Store and Clip Player audio.
- Routed Tallies
  The switcher must pass tally information to the router so that the router can tally the correct video source that is being passed to the switcher.
- UltriScape Multi-Viewer
  Some of the outputs from each ME are available as PiPs for the software defined UltriScape MultiViewer in the router.

Ultrix Carbonite Video Flow

Video signals come into the switcher either directly through the input HD-BNCs on the SDPE blade or indirectly through the router matrix. Video outputs from the switcher are then available on the output HD-BNCs on the SDPE blade and as router sources that can be routed to destinations.
