To install the new blade you must power off the frame and remove the old blade or blank plate from the slot.

- Switcher Status
  The status menus show information for various components of the frame.
- Switcher Logs
  Switcher logs can be used to identify and diagnose problems with the switcher. Use this information when contacting Ross Video Technical Support.
- Diagnostic Tests
  Diagnostics consist of a number of tests that are used to confirm the functionality of your equipment.
- Error Messages
  The switcher will show an error message on the control panel display when a problem is detected.
- Switcher Reset
  If required, the switcher can be reset to return it to a user-defined default setting (RState), or the factory default state. A reset can be performed for the entire switcher, or individual components, such as keys.
- Frame DIP Switches
  The DIP switches allow you to set default IP address and other diagnostic states.

    To install the new blade you must power off the frame and remove the old blade or blank plate from the slot.
  - To Install an SDPE Blade
    With the old blade removed, and the power still off and disconnected, you can install the new blade.

To install the new blade you must power off the frame and remove the old blade or blank plate from the slot.

CAUTION:

Before your set up or operate your switcher, see the "Important Safety Instructions" in your manual.

ESD Susceptibility:

Static discharge can cause serious damage to sensitive semiconductor devices. Avoid handling the circuit boards in high static environments such as carpeted areas and when synthetic fiber clothing is worn. Touch the metal frame to dissipate static charge before removing boards and exercise proper grounding precautions when working on circuit boards.

Important:

The CPU in the Ultrix™ chassis is not hot-swappable. You must power off the frame before attempting to remove the blade. Failure to power off the frame could result in damage to the equipment.

Power off the Ultrix™ chassis according to the instructions that came with your HyperMax and unplug all the power cables.

Warning Hazardous Voltages:
Hazardous voltages are present in this device as long as any of the power supplies are connected to the AC power.
Remove any cables connected to the CPU.
Fully loosen the retaining screws at either end of the card.
Grasp the card by both ends and gently pull the card out of the chassis.
