Message Inception Users

Inception contains a built-in messaging system that enables Inception users to communicate with each other individually or in groups on the same Inception system. Chats are an exchange of messages between you and a single other user. Conversations are an exchange of messages between you and a two or more other users.

The users that you send a message do not need to be logged in to Inception. Users receive your message the next time they log in to Inception. The Messages screen displays the messages that you have sent to and received from other users on your Inception system.

Chats​

Chats are the exchange of messages between you and a single other Inception user. The Messages screen displays the following information about chats:

  • User Name — the name of the user that sent the message.

  • Time — the time that you received the message.

  • New Item — a blue dot highlights unread items in your Messages list.

  • Preview — a preview of the received message.

  • User Status — the current online status of the sending user.

Conversations​

Conversations are the exchange messages about a specific topic between your and two or more other Inception users. The Messages screen displays the following information about conversations:

  • Title — the title of the conversation.

  • Time — the time that you received the message.

  • New Item — a blue dot highlights unread items in your Messages list.

  • Preview — a preview of the received message.

  • Members — the number of users participating in the conversation.

While participating in a conversation you can do the following to manage the conversation:

  • Change the subject of the conversation.

  • View details about the conversation.
