Device Setup

The device must be set up to communicate with the switcher using the same serial or ethernet communications as you set the switcher up to use.

Note: This information in this procedure is provided as a guide and is based on the current version of hardware and software that was available at the time of testing. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, refer to the documentation that came with your device.
Note: The audio server interface can only support up to 20 lists of 60 audio cuts each.

To Set Up Serial Communication

  1. Configure a remote port on the ENCO DAD® for external automation using the DAD® Command Language (DCL).
  2. Create a blank Playlist on the DAD®, and name the Playlist "SYNERGY". This Playlist enables the switcher to communicate with the DAD®.
  3. On the Audio Server menu of the switcher, the Cut ID Machine must be set to QUAD I.

To Set Up Ethernet Communication

Note: The ENCO Universal Translator requires the IP address of the ENCO and must be running on-screen to ensure proper communications.

The translator shows all external communications sent and received by the DAD®.

Tip: The DAD® populates audio tracks for OverDrive® in the Quads. Quad 1 is Machine 13 for OverDrive® control.
