Requesting Asset Approval on Ingest

When you do not have Approve Assets permission, you can choose to request asset approval at the same time that Streamline creates new assets by ingesting media files. You can use the Asset Editor panel to request approval of existing assets.

To request asset approval on ingest

1.As a user without Approve Assets permission, click the Main_Toolbar_-_Upload00128.jpg Assets Upload icon in the main toolbar.

The Upload panel opens.

2.Add the media files to ingest to the Upload panel.

3.Click the Upload_-_Toolbar_-_Request_Approval_for_All.jpg Request Approval for All icon.

Streamline adds the text “Approval to be requested upon ingest” to the preview of each media file selected for upload.

4.To upload a specific media file, click the Upload button associated with the media file preview. Click the Upload_-_Toolbar_-_Upload_All00133.jpg Upload All icon in the Upload panel toolbar to upload all of the media files listed in the Upload panel

Streamline ingests the selected media files and requests approval for the assets associated with ingested media files. Streamline displays the text Approval Requested in the media file preview.

All of the users with Approve Assets permission on a Streamline Server receive an asset approval request in the Asset Approvals panel.

Requesting Asset Approval of Existing Assets

You can use the Asset Editor panel to request approval of existing assets.

To request approval of an exist asset

1.As a user without Approve Assets permission, upload media files to your Streamline Server.

Streamline ingests the selected media files and displays the text Not Approved in the media file preview.

2.In the Assets panel, double-click the asset to submit for approval.

The Asset Editor panel opens for the selected asset.

3.Click the Asset_Editor_-_Toolbar_-_Request_Approval.jpg Request Approval icon in the bottom toolbar.

The Asset Editor panel status bar displays a new status of “Pending Approval”. The Asset panel displays a check mark in the Submitted column of the asset.
