Enable Story Approval via E-mail

After enabling approval of stories via e-mail, Inception sends users story approval requests via e-mail to which they can reply to approve or reject a story. Users must have correct permissions to create stories via e-mail.

To enable story approval via e-mail

1.      On the Configuration window toolbar, click the  System icon.

The System panel opens.

2.      Click the Approvals tab.

The Approvals tab opens.

3.      Select the Enable E-mail Approvals check box to enable Inception to send approval request e-mails to users who have permission to approve stories.

This option also enables Inception to send system notifications to system administrators.

4.      In the E-Mail Address box, enter the e-mail address that Inception uses to send approval request e-mails to users who have permission to approve stories.

Ross Video recommends creating a new and dedicated e-mail address with a descriptive username to receive approvals request e-mails. Users see the username when they receive approval requests and notifications. The e-mail address for approvals cannot be the same one used for story creation via e-mail.

5.      In the E-Mail Username box, enter the username associated with the approval request e-mail address.

6.      In the E-Mail Password box, enter the password associated with the approval request e-mail address.

This box looks empty, even after setting the password.
