Search by Date

After you define a search query, you can limit your search to the Inception content with a creation or modification date that matches one of the following dates:

•    Start Date — after the specified date when you only set a start date.

•    End Date — before the specified date when you only set an end date.

•    Start Date and End Date — between the specified dates when you only set a start date and an end date.

Along with the creation date and modification date, Inception uses the set Start Date and set End Date to filter additional date information associated with the following Inception content:

•    Due Date — Assignments

•    End Date — Playlist, Running Order, Twitter Poll

•    Posted Date — Flickr

•    Published Date — Stories, Facebook, Instagram, Mass Relevance, RSS, Sina Weibo, Twitter

•    Release Date — Wire

•    Start Date — Playlist, Running Order, Twitter Poll

To search for content by date

1.      In the Search Query box of the Search panel, enter the terms with which to search for content on your Inception Server.

2.      Click or tap the Show Advanced Options link.

Inception adds the following search options to the Search panel:

•    Content Type 

•    By User 

•    Start Date 

•    End Date 

3.      If you want to find Inception content with a date after a selected date, use the Start Date box to select the date.

4.      If you want to find Inception content with a date before a selected date, use the End Date box to select the date.

5.      If you want to find Inception content with a date within a date range, use the Start Date box to select the start of the date range and the End Date box to select the end of the date range.

6.      Click or tap Search.

The Results page of the Search panel opens to display your Inception content that matches the following parameters that you set on the Search panel:

•    Term or terms entered in the Search Query box.

•    Inception content with a date that matches one of the following dates:

›     Start Date — after the specified date when you only set a start date.

›     End Date — before the specified date when you only set an end date.

›     Start Date and End Date — between the specified dates when you only set a start date and an end date.
