Create a One-Time Twitter Search

Users must have permission to view feeds in order to create One-Time Twitter searches.

To create a One-Time Twitter search

1.      To open the Twitter Feeds list, do one of the following:

    Desktop Computer — in the main toolbar, point to the Main_Toolbar_-_Twitter00268.jpg Twitter Feeds icon to expand the list.

    Mobile Device — in the main toolbar, tap the Main_Toolbar_-_Twitter00271.jpg Twitter Feeds icon to expand the list.

2.      Click or tap Search Twitter.

The Search Twitter dialog box opens in the Twitter Feed Viewer panel.

3.      In the Search Query box, enter the query to use to search Twitter content.The following table lists the valid operators for constructing a Twitter search:

4.      Use the Language list to select the language of the tweets to include in the search results.

5.      To include retweets in the search results, select the Include Retweets check box. Clear this check box to exclude retweets from the search results

6.      To limit your search to a geographic region, select the Enable GeoTargeting check box and complete the following steps:

a.    In the Location box, enter the name of the location to center your search.

b.    Click Lookup.

Inception loads the latitude and longitude values of the entered location into the Latitude and Longitude boxes.

When Inception cannot find the latitude and longitude values for a location, you can enter the correct values in the Latitude and Longitude boxes. Enter the latitude value as decimal degrees, from -90.00000000 to 90.00000000. Positive values are North of the equator. Enter the longitude value as decimal degrees, from -180.00000000 to 180.00000000. Positive values are East of the Prime Meridian (Greenwich Meridian).

c.    In the Radius box, enter the radius of the area around the selected location to search for tweets.

d.    Use the Units list to select the measurement unit (miles or kilometers) for the entered search radius.

7.      In the bottom toolbar, click or tap the Feed_Viewer_-_Toolbar_Bottom_-_Search00276.jpg Search icon.

The Twitter Feed Viewer panel displays the search results, which you can drag into playlists

8.      To filter the search results, do the following:

a.    in the toolbar, click or tap the Feed_Viewer_-_Toolbar_-_Filter00281.jpg Filter icon.

The Filter box opens.

b.    In the Filter box, enter terms with which to filter the search results in the Twitter Feed Viewer panel

The results filter as you type. Filtered results include only the Flickr content that matches all entered terms.

c.    To once again display all of the search results, do one of the following:

    Clear the Filter box.

    Click or tap the Feed_Viewer_-_Toolbar_-_Filter00284.jpg Filter icon to close Filter the box.
