Twitter Feed Viewer

Procedures

Use this panel to monitor and manage Twitter feeds. You can also select feed items to drag into playlists, and create new stories.

Search-Based Feed

Search-Based feeds show items retrieved from Twitter, based on search terms that were specified when the feed was created.

You can monitor the feed and interact with it in various ways.

Top Toolbar

Configure — click this icon to edit the parameters of the current Search-Based Twitter feed.

Filter — click tap this icon to open the Filter box. In the Filter box enter terms you are looking for in the Search-Based Twitter feed. The feed updates to display only the content that contains all of the entered terms.

Twitter_Feed_Viewer_-_Refresh.jpg 

Refresh — click or tap this icon to refresh the feed with updated content.

Twitter_Feed_Viewer_-_RSS.jpg 

RSS — click this icon to view the current Search-Based Twitter feed as an RSS feed in an RSS feed reader. Refreshing the RSS feed viewer updates the view.

Change — click this link to choose the Twitter user with which to reply, retweet, favorite, or create a new Twitter story.

Feed Content — this area displays the tweets retrieved from the Search-Based Twitter feed, and enables you to interact with the tweets as follows:

Avatar Picture — drag the avatar picture of a tweet into a playlist to add the tweet to the playlist.

User Name — click or tap the user name associated with a tweet to view all of the Twitter user‘s tweets in a new browser window or tab.

Icon_-_Location_Information.jpg — this icon indicates that the tweet contains location information.

Icon_-_Attached_Image.jpg — click this icon to view the attached image in the tweet.

Reply — click or tap the Feed_Viewer_-_Twitter_-_Reply.jpg Reply icon to reply to the tweet. Enter your reply in the simple editor that opens a the bottom of the feed viewer. Click or tap the Twitter_Feed_Viewer_-_Publish.jpg Publish icon to post your reply.

This button is only available after selecting a Twitter user.

Retweet — click or tap the Feed_Viewer_-_Twitter_-_Retweet.jpg Retweet icon to retweet the tweet using your Twitter account. This icon applies only to tweets sent by others.

This button is only available after selecting a Twitter user.

Favorite — click or tap the Feed_Viewer_-_Twitter_-_Favorite.jpg Favorite icon to mark the tweet as a favorite. The selected tweet is added to the Favorites view. It may take up to five minutes for the tweet to display in the Favorites view.

This button is only available after selecting a Twitter user.

Date — click this link to view the tweet in Twitter and in a new browser window or tab.

View Conversation — click this link to view all of the tweets in a Twitter conversation.

This link is only available when the Twitter conversation is hidden.

Hide Conversation — click this link to hide the tweets in a Twitter conversation.

This link is only available when the Twitter conversation is shown.

Bottom Toolbar

Inception only displays the bottom toolbar after selecting a Twitter user for a Search-Based feed. Click the Change link under the top toolbar to choose the Twitter user with which to reply, retweet, favorite, or create a new Twitter story.

The bottom toolbar contains the following buttons:

New Twitter Story — click or tap this icon to open a simple story editor within the feed viewer.

Close — click or tap this icon to close the simple story editor. This icon is part of the simple story editor toolbar.

Publish — click or tap this icon to publish a new story to Twitter. This icon is part of the simple story editor toolbar.

Twitter_Feed_Viewer_-_Open_In_Story_Editor.jpg 

Open in Story Editor — click or tap this icon to open the story in the full Story Editor panel. After you edit the story, you can publish it from the Story Editor panel, or drag it into a running order. This icon is part of the simple story editor toolbar.

 

Story — enter in this box the contents of a new story. This box is part of the simple story editor.
