Use this panel to create, modify, approve, schedule, and publish the social media stories. The Story Editor panel opens when you double-click or double-tap a story in the running order or in the My Stories panel.
Frankly is an online content management system that you can use to publish content to the web or social media. Frankly stories consist of a summary image, title, body, content classification, bylines, and categories. The body of a Frankly story can contain text and images in .gif, .jpg, or .png format.
The Story Editor interface for working with Frankly stories is as follows:

Save — click or tap this icon to save the story. |

Take Content Lock from User — click or tap this icon to take the content lock from the current user so that you can edit the story. This icon is only available with another user is currently editing the same story that you have open in the Story Editor. |

Add — use this menu to select a format to create a new story within the same story family. |
|
Open — use this menu to select a previously-created story to open it in Story Editor. |
|
Delete — click or tap this icon to delete the current story. |
|
Restore — click or tap this icon to restore the story and move it from the Recycle Bin folder back to the Story Browser folder from which the it was deleted. This icon is only available for stories opened from the Recycle Bin. |
|
Purge — click or tap this icon to permanently delete the story from the Inception Server. This icon is only available for stories opened from the Recycle Bin. |
|
Discuss — click or tap this icon to open the Discussion panel and join a discussion with other Inception users about the current story. |
|
Recase — click or tap this icon to adjust capitalization to make the story text mixed case. Review the resulting text carefully, as the recase tool cannot account for all situations. |
|
Drag — drag this icon into a running order to copy the current story to the running order. |
|
Assignees — click or tap this icon to open the Edit Assignees dialog box to assign Inception users to the story or edit the Inception users assigned to the story. |
Account — use this list to select the Frankly account to publish the story.
Summary Image — use this list to select the media source that contains an image to use as a representative for the story. The display of this image depends on how you publish the Frankly story.
•No Media Source — do not select an image for the story.
•Upload Media Source — use the following controls to select an image for the story from an Upload media source:
Browse — click this button to use the File Upload dialog box to select an image, upload the image to the Upload media source folder, and select the uploaded image for the story.

File — use this list to select an image for the story.

•Directory Media Source — use the following controls to select an image for the story from a Directory media source:
File — when displayed as a list, select an image for the story. When displayed as a box, enter the file name of the image to select for the story.

•MOS Media Source — use the following controls to select an image for the story from a MOS media source:
Asset — drag the MOS object that contains the image for the story from the MOS Objects panel or MOS Favorites panel to this box.

— click this icon to clear the selected image from the Asset box.
•QuickTurn Media Source — use the following controls to select an image for the story from a QuickTurn media source:
Segment — use this list to select the QuickTurn segment that contains the image for the story.

•Streamline Media Source — use the following controls to select an image for the story from a Streamline media source:
Asset — drag the Streamline asset that contains the image for the story from Streamline, the Streamline Plugin panel, or the MOS Objects panel to this box.

Player panel.
— click this icon to clear the selected image from the Asset box.
Options — the following image options are only available when you select a summary image for your story:
Image Alignment — use this list to select the horizontal alignment for the summary image.
Image Width — use this list the select the width of the summary image.
Title — enter in this box a title for the story.
Body — in this box, enter new story text and images or edit existing story text and images. Use the tools in the Text Formatting toolbar to format the look of story text, links, and images.
Use as Summary — select his check box to use the first 500 characters of the story text entered in the Body box as the story summary. Clear this check box to enter a story summary in the Summary box.

Bold — click or tap this icon to make the selected text bold. |

Underline — click or tap this icon to underline the selected text. |

Strike-through — click or tap this icon to draw a line through the middle of the selected text. |

Remove Format — click or tap this icon to remove Bold, Italic, Underline, Strike-through, and Text Color formatting from the selected text. |

Text Color — click or tap this icon to change the color of the selected text. Select Automatic to use the default text color. Select More Colors to open the Select color dialog box and use HTML color codes to select the text color. |

Select All — click or tap this icon to select all the content in a story |
|
Cut — click or tap this icon to remove the selected text from the story and place it on the clipboard. |
|
Copy — click or tap this icon to place a copy of the selected text on the clipboard. |
|
Paste — click or tap this icon to paste the contents of the clipboard into the story at the cursor location. |
|
Paste as Plain Text — click or tap this icon to paste the contents of the clipboard into a story without any text formatting. |
|
Paste from Word — click or tap this icon to paste formatted text selected from a Word file into a story and retain text formatting. |
|
Undo — click or tap this icon to reverse your last edit. |
|
Redo — click or tap this icon to recover the last edit that you canceled with the Undo tool. |

Find — click or tap this icon to find text in a story. |
|
Replace — click or tap this icon to replace text in a story. |
|
Maximize — click or tap this icon to expand the Body to fill the Story Editor Panel. When expanded, click or tap this icon to contract the Body. |

Print — click or tap this button to print the current story. |
|
Convert to Upper Case — click or tap this icon to change the selected text to all upper-case letters. |
|
Convert to Lower Case — click or tap this icon to change the selected text to all lower-case letters.
|
|
Convert to Body Case — click or tap this icon to change the selected text to mixed case letters. Review the resulting text carefully, because the case adjustment tool cannot account for all situations. |

Insert/Remove Bulleted List — click or tap this icon to add bullets to start of the of each selected paragraph. Bullets are removed from bulleted paragraphs. |

Insert/Remove Numbered List — click or tap this icon to add sequential numbers to start of the of each selected paragraph. Numbers are removed from numbered paragraphs. |

Decrease Indent — click or tap this icon to decrease the indent level of the selected numbered list or bulleted list. |
|
Increase Indent — click or tap this icon to increase the indent level of the selected numbered list or bulleted list. |
|
Block Quote — click or tap this icon to indent the selected text to highlight it as an extended quotation. |
|
Align Left — click or tap this icon to align the selected text to the left side of the text box. |
|
Align Center — click or tap this icon to center the selected text in the text box. |
|
Align Right — click or tap this icon to align the selected text to the right side of the text box. |
|
Justify — click or tap this icon to align the selected text to both the left and right sides of the text box, adding extra space between words as necessary. |

Format Paragraph — use this list to select the paragraph style to apply to the selected text. The visual appearance of the story when published may vary from the appearance you define in Inception. The final visual appearance of each style is controlled by a cascading style sheet (CSS) on your Frankly website. |

Insert Special Character — click or tap this icon to use the Select Special Character dialog box to insert characters that are not your keyboard. |
|
Link Insert/Edit — click or tap this icon to use the Link dialog box to add a URL, anchor, or E-Mail link to the selected text. |
|
Insert Horizontal Line — click or tap this icon to insert a horizontal line at the cursor location. |
|
Image — click or tap this icon to insert an image from a website at the cursor location. |
|
Embed YouTube Video — click or tap this icon to use the Embed YouTube Video dialog box to embed a video from YouTube at the cursor location. |
|
Embed Media from External Sites — click or tap this icon to use the Embed Media Content dialog box to embed an image, video, audio, or rich content from an external website at the cursor location. |
|
Source — click or tap this icon to edit the HTML source code of a story in the Source editor. |
Summary — in this box, edit the story summary that was generated from the story Body. Frankly story summaries are limited to 500 characters. This box is only available went the Use as Summary check box is cleared.
Content Classification — use this list to select the Frankly content classification for a story.
Bylines — use this list to select the author byline for a story. Ctrl-click bylines to select multiple bylines for a story. To select a range of bylines for a story, click the first byline in the range and then Shift-click the last byline in the range.
Categories — use this list to select the Frankly categories to associate with a story. Ctrl-click categories to select multiple categories for a story. To select a range of categories for a story, click the first category in the range and then Shift-click the last category in the range.

Approve — click or tap this icon to approve the current story for publishing. |
|
Request Approval — click or tap this icon to request approval of the story when a user does not have approval permission. When e-mail approval in enabled, an approval request is sent to all users who have approval permission. |
|
Unapprove — click or tap this icon to change the approval status of the current story from Approved to Not Approved. This icon is only available for stories that are approved and not published. |
|
Publish — click or tap this icon to publish the current story. This icon is only available for approved stories. |
|
Request Publish — click or tap this icon to request approval of the story, and to publish it as soon as approval is obtained. |
|
Unpublish — click or tap this icon to change the publish status of the current story from Published to Not published. This icon is only available for published stories. |
|
Hold — click or tap this icon to approve the story, but not publish it. This icon is available if a user with publish permissions requested that the story be approved and published. |
|
Reject — click or tap this icon to reject a request to approve or publish a story. |
|
Schedule — click this icon to schedule a date and time to automatically publish the story. |
|
Reschedule — click this icon to change the date and time to automatically publish the story. This icon is only available for scheduled stories. |
Spelling Shortcut Menu
Suggested Spellings — select one of the suggested spellings to replace the selected misspelled word.
Ignore —select this command to ignore the spelling of the selected word for the current editing session. Inception removes the squiggly red underline from the selected word for the current editing session. The next time you open the story, Inception once again highlights the word as a spelling error.
Add to System Directory — select this command to add the selected word to the additional word list for the active dictionary. After adding the selected word, Inception removes the squiggly red underline from the word. The words that you add to the additional word list of a dictionary are available to all users that use the dictionary for spell checking.
Add to Personal Directory — select this command to add the selected word to your personal word list for the active dictionary. After adding the selected word, Inception removes the squiggly red underline from the word. The words that you add to your personal word list are only available to you for spell checking.
Spellcheck Dictionary — select this command to select a spell-checking dictionary for the current editing session.
Copy — select this command to place a copy of the selected text on the clipboard.
Cut — select this command to remove the selected text from the story and place it on the clipboard.
Paste — select this command to paste the contents of the clipboard into the story at the cursor location.
