Create a Flickr Story via E-mail

When your Inception administrator enables the E-mail Story Creation option on your Inception Server, you can create a Flickr story by sending an e-mail to your Inception Server.

To create a Flickr story via e-mail

1.Open the e-mail account associated with your Inception user account.

2.Create a new e-mail addressed to the e-mail address used for story submission.

If you do not know of the correct e-mail address for story submission, contact your administrator.

3.As the subject of the e-mail, enter the slug name for the story.

4.In the body of the e-mail, enter the description for the story.

5.Attach the image file or video file for the story to the e-mail.

6.Send the e-mail.

Your e-mail client sends the story to the Inception Server. Within a few minutes, the Inception Server sends you a reply to your e-mail.

7.Open the e-mail from the Inception Server.

The body of the e-mail includes a Flickr heading. Below the heading is a bulleted list of Flickr accounts through which you can create the story. Below each account is a bulleted list of approval options and publication options that you can request. Which options appear depends on your user permissions.

8.Decide which Flickr account to use and then within the section for that account, do one of the following:

•Click or tap the account name to create the story without approving or publishing it.

In Inception, the story appears in your Story Browser panel.

•Click or tap Request Approve to create the story and request Inception to approve the story.

•Click or tap Approve to create and approve the story.

•Click or tap Request Publish to create the story and request that Inception publish the story. As soon as someone approves the story, Inception publishes the story to the Flickr account.

•Click or tap Publish to create, approve, and publish the story to the Flicker account.

After you click or tap an option, the e-mail client creates a new e-mail.

No e-mail created 

When your e-mail client does not create a new e-mail, your e-mail client does not support automatic e-mail creation. To manually create a reply e-mail manually:

a.Create a reply e-mail.

b.In the body of the e-mail, enter the account name exactly as displayed in the original e-mail.

c.Below the account name, enter the action you want to request:

•To create a story without approving or publishing it, enter nothing.

•For Approve or Request Approve, enter Approve.

For Publish or Request Publish, enter Publish.

9.Send the e-mail.

If you do not send a valid reply within 96 hours, the Inception Server automatically cancels the request and does not create the story.
