Loading Media Files

Media files are stored on the hard drive and loaded into the Global-Store or ME-Store caches when needed. Media files can be loaded either by navigating to the file on the hard drive, or my entering the media number on the memory keypad. The length of time it takes to load a file depends on the size of the file, and/or the length of the animation. If you are working with a number of large media files, you may have to clear the cache before you load a new file.

If there is an audio file with the same name (and in the same directory) as the video file, it is loaded at the same time as the video. Only Global-Stores can load audio. Video files with associated audio files have a small speaker image on the thumbnail. Audio and video files do not need to be the same length.

The media item had an alpha associated with it that will be loaded into the secondary channel when this media item is loaded.
The media item has associated audio that will be loaded into the audio channel.
The media item is an animation with multiple frames.
The media item is a audio file with no associated video.
There is something wrong with the audio file and it cannot be loaded.
There is something wrong with the media item and it cannot be loaded.
Tip: If you use a large animation in your production, it is a good idea to load that animation before you start your show so that it has plenty of time to load.
